I was born in 1961 in Ragusa Ibla (south Sicily - Italy), a wonderfull baroque town. From '61 to '63 I lived in Aliano (200 Km south of Neaples). From '63 to '71 I lived in Ortì (near Reggio Calabria), and from '71 to '88 in Reggio Calabria. Since '88 I live and work in Turin (Olympic games, Fiat, Juventus... you know?). I cannot make a choice between Reggio Calabria and Turin: I love both the same.
In '89 I married Mariella. Then my family grew: Salvatore was born in '93, and Raffaella was born in '98. Clio is the boss.
I'm a physics graduate and my job is in the aeronautic field.
The hobby of astronomy was born with me; I remember the summer evenings when I had a walk with my family and I spent all the time to admire an incredibly unpolluted sky.
My first scope has arrived with the second salary in 1988: a 114/1000 catadioptric that despite its reputation has given me great satisfaction. The fact that it was not a great instrument helped me very much: it had all the possible defects and I have learned to recognize everyone.
Electronics have never excited me, but for my scopes and mounts I have learned to design and build parts of increasing complexity.
In '90 I join the Gruppo Astrofili William Herschell.
At the end, if you are fearless, this is my photo.
